The Environment

We operate with the highest standards of environmental integrity.

Flowline has been at the forefront of our industry’s response to environmental impact and we take this issue very seriously. Our approach to environmental management is a major priority for the directors of the company who are tasked to achieve clear targets as laid down by our industry’s governing body,

“We recognise that drainage cleaning can be a ‘dirty job’ but this doesn’t mean that it has to be done without giving due consideration to its environmental impact”. Barry Robins, Managing Director.

Our achievement of the environmental management system standard ISO14001, 2004 means that we are wholeheartedly committed to conducting our business in an ethical and socially responsible manner.

Our key objective is to achieve a carbon neutral position, with this commitment being essential to sustainable business success. In support of this objective, we aim to provide services that are environmentally sound, and conduct our operations in an environmentally responsible manner.

Our key objective is to achieve a carbon neutral position, with this commitment being essential to sustainable business success. In support of this objective, we aim to provide services that are environmentally sound, and conduct our operations in an environmentally responsible manner. In order to reinforce this position, all Flowline employees need to demonstrate our innovation credentials and to help implement an environmental policy that rewards against success based on the following criteria:

Product Utilisation – ensure that the products used during operations are safe, and that we minimise the use of hazardous materials, energy and other resources.

Pollution Prevention – conduct our operations in a manner that prevents pollution, conserves resources, reduces the use of raw materials, energy and supplies.

Continual Improvement – integrate environmental management into our business and decision-making processes, regularly measure our performance and practice continual improvement.

As a responsible employer, our corporate responsibility plan positions Flowline as a leader in its field. We accept that there are major environmental challenges facing our industry and that we must invest in our people and equipment if we are to meet this challenge. To these ends, we have implemented systems for re-cycling materials, packaging and disposal of paper, and the reduction in the use of natural resources, which include a new and fully operational Waste Recycling facility for our Gully and Catchpit cleaning operations.
